1. Overview
LinguaPulse ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it when you use the LinguaPulse mobile application.
2. Data We Collect
We collect only the data necessary to provide our service:
- Account data: If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your Apple ID or Google account ID and, if provided, your name and email address. This is used solely to identify your account.
- Device identifier: A unique device ID used to manage your session and freemium usage limits when you use the app without signing in.
- Voice input: Audio recordings you submit during speaking practice sessions. These are sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription and are not stored by us after processing.
- Usage data: Session history, practice streaks, and in-app activity used to display your progress and enforce usage limits.
- Analytics: Anonymous usage events via Google Analytics to understand how the app is used. No personally identifiable information is included.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Authenticate your account via Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In
- Deliver AI-powered speaking practice sessions
- Transcribe your voice input and generate AI responses
- Track your usage, streaks, and session history
- Enforce freemium session limits
- Improve the app based on anonymous usage patterns
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following third-party services necessary to operate LinguaPulse:
- OpenAI — voice transcription (Whisper), AI conversation (GPT-4o-mini), and text-to-speech (TTS). Your audio and text are processed according to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
- Apple / Google — authentication via Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, and subscription management via App Store / Google Play. Governed by their respective privacy policies.
- Cloudflare — serverless backend and database hosting.
- Google Analytics — anonymous usage analytics.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your account and usage data is stored securely on Cloudflare's infrastructure. We use HTTPS for all network communication. Voice recordings are transmitted directly to OpenAI for processing and are not stored on our servers.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and usage data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days. Device-based data (no account) is cleared when you uninstall the app.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

8. Children's Privacy
LinguaPulse is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
9. Subscriptions
LinguaPulse offers a free tier and a paid subscription. Subscriptions are managed through Apple App Store or Google Play. Billing and payment data is handled entirely by Apple or Google — we never see your payment details.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
